Collaboration

Jack of one trade.

We like to think of ourselves as good storytellers, and we're pretty decent at a few different storytelling things - but there's a limit to what we're skilled at. So we look to collaboration and outreach to find the talent a project needs. Listed here are talents we are aspiring to include in one of our projects that we don't yet have covered. If you have interest, we'd love to hear from you! Reach out at collab(at)grinningcat(dot)studio.

Serial Artist

The A Crystal Moon project is intended to be a fantasy-esque intrigue tale written as a graphic novel and presented digitally periodically until completion, where we'd make a print version. We are slightly flexible on style we're looking for, but werewolves, spellcasting, combat, and some nudity are a part of the tale. There's another multi-issue project in the works if this takes off, so this can become a longer collaboration opportunity.

Composer

Several of our projects are audio-based or incorporate audio in some way. Whether that's audio stories like Redan's Delve or games like The Eclipse Rune, music is an integral part of the storytelling. We're looking for theme and stem work that can be developed for specific upcoming projects - from tense thriller to uplifting adventure. Almost all of our projects have a need for this kind of work and each can be collaborated with different artists.

Pixel Artist

With The Eclipse Rune, we're looking to have the faction-based story play out amid territory control and tactical combat mechanics. Players take control of 16-bit-esque characters on a combat grid, engage in conversations with characters, and decide overworld directions for territories. Art is largely focused on character design, sprites, and portraits. Landscapes could be helpful but aren't necessary. Expectation is about 20 or so small assets.

Unless otherwise specifically noted, any collaboration opportunity listed here is offered with some sort of compensation - typically money. Other arrangements or trades are certainly possible if it's beneficial to everyone, but we believe in folks being appreciated for their work. No freebies here.
